What arrogance! What an insult to the rich and chaotic variety of the human experience!

It was the same with more static evidence. The footprints in the flowerbed were probably in the real world left by the window-cleaner. The scream in the night was quite likely a man getting out of bed and stepping sharply on an upturned hairbrush.

The real world was far too real to leave neat little hints. It was full of too many things. It wasn't by eliminating the impossible that you got at the truth, however improbable; it was by the much harder process of eliminating the possibilities. You worked away, patiently asking questions and looking hard at things. You walked and talked, and in your heart you just hoped like hell that some bugger's nerve'd crack and he'd give himself up.

metalci Selami

Şu başımın bakanına "metalci selamı" veren gençleri çok kıskandım. Ben alışkanlıktan Prodigy'e bile o hareketi yaparken, onlar Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'a yapıyorlardı. Herifin gücüne bile gitmiş. Oysa Nine Inch Nails'ın beni gördüğünü sanmıyorum.

Medyaya yansıyışını sevdiğim sayılı gelişmelerden biri oldu bu. Bir noktada CHP İstanbul il başkanının hareketi yapan fotoğrafını bile gördüm. Lakin bir köşe yazısı sinirimi bozdu: Yılmaz Özdil'in Hürriyet'e (veya en azından Hürriyet'in Web sitesine) yazdığı yazı.

"Salya sümük ağlayan metalci olur mu kardeşim?" diyor yazar; "iki tane polisten tırsıyorsan, alt tarafı 3 saat içerde yatmaktan ödün patlıyorsa, burnuna niye haşin çocuklar gibi zincir taktın Allah aşkına? Git, Serdar Ortaç dinle."

Yazarın çıkış noktasını ve yazıda örneklediği "delikanlı metalci" tutumunu takdir etmemek elde değil, ama yine de beni büyük ölçüde rahatsız eden bir şey var burada. "Salya sümük ağlama" diyor. Ben ağlamayayım da kim ağlasın?

İnsanın konser alanında konser dinleyicisi tavırları takındığı için göz altına alındığı, hakkında suç duyuruları yapıldığı dünyanın sayılı ülkelerinden birinde yaşadığım için ağlama hakkım yok mudur?

Savcının, gençlere kime oy verdikleri sorulduktan sonra, "CHP'ye oy verdiğiniz için Başbakan'ı protesto etme hakkınız var" dediğini hatırlıyorum okuduğum haberlerden. Bu mudur yani? Sadece, muhalefet partisine oy verdiğimizden dolayı oluşan bir protesto hakkımız mı vardır?
Ağlayamaz mıyız? Zırlayıp, anamıza gidip "beni de al git" diyemez miyiz?

Bana niye Cem Karaca, Edip Akbayram örnekleri gösteriliyor ki? İçinde bulunduğumuz ahval ve şerait yeterince kötü değil midir? Daha kötüsü bulunduğu takdirde susmamız, yetinmemiz mi gerekir? Ayrıca bu insanlar, anlatıldığı üzere bunca zulme teslim olmayacak kadar erdemli insanlarsa, örnek alınacak noktaları sessizlikleri midir?

Mars'ta Hayat Bulundu!

Kaç kere bu habere denk geldiniz? İçeriği neydi? Küçük yeşil canlıların akıl almaz pozları 4. sayfada mıydı?

Ben şahsen birkaç kere denk geldim. Hiç birinde de uzaylılar yoktu. "Yüzeyindeki su kanalları, Mars'ta bir zamanlar büyük okyanus ve nehirlerin olduğuna," "kutuplardaki buzullar, Mars'ta şu anda bile su olduğuna", bunlar da gezegende bir zamanlar hayat olabileceğine işaret ediyordu, evet, ama başlıkta söz verilen hayattan eser yoktu.

Bilgi çağındayız. Artık, Mars'ta Hayat Bulundu haberi okuduğumda, uzaylıların ten renklerinin yeşilin tam olarak hangi tonu olduğunu, dün kahvaltıda ne yediklerini bilmek istiyorum. Haberi yazan stajyerin bunları nereden bildiğini de bilmek istiyorum.
